Girl From The North Country

Making her professional stage debut at the Arden Theatre, Laurel is understudying Mrs. Burke in Girl from the North Country, directed by Terry Nolen. Featuring a company of 14 actor-musicians, the production blends storytelling and live music, with each actor playing an instrument as an integral part of the world of the play rather than performing alongside a traditional pit orchestra. For this role, Laurel picked up the banjo specifically to prepare for the production and has embraced the challenge of adding a new instrument to her performance skills. After joining the company and rehearsing her understudy track, Laurel recently had the opportunity to perform in the production’s understudy run, showcasing her work and officially going on call as Mrs. Burke. This experience marks an exciting first step into her professional theatre career and an opportunity to work alongside an incredible cast and creative team.
